Thoughts on separation of trendy ideology and state?
We have seperation of church and state for a reason. Trendy ideology should not have legislative power over the masses. Saying that i understand america was founded on Judaism and Christianity ideologies. However people chose to keep church and state separate for the most part.
This coming from a staunch athiest. Btw.
You will NOT find the doctrine of "Separation of Church and State" in the Constitution of the United States. The First Amendment says, regarding religion, "Congress shall make no laws respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." What this, originally meant, and should mean is that Congress can not establish a National Religion, or prevent you or I from practicing our religion the way we see fit. However, in the 1947 decision, Everson v. Board of Education, the "wall of separation" that Thomas Jefferson wrote about in his letter to the Danbury Baptists was misappropriated and misinterpreted to be a "Constitutional" doctrine. What the First Amendment was meant to prevent was European Style Government backed religion. For instance, in Germany TODAY, you will have 10% of your pay deducted and sent to the Roman Catholic Church unless you file and protest that payment. In short, they wanted to prevent a State Religion.
As I recall, it was the dictum of Christ that we should render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's and to God what is God's. Of course this was the Christian ethic. Trendy Ideology does not think of itself as a religion yet it is a belief system on the order of religion. It is a heresy to question any Trendy Ideology today as it was that same heresy to question the Christian or Jewish or Islamic religious beliefs. Unfortunately, these new ideologies use undisciplined mob authoritative thinking and thus eat themselves.
