My ex-Muslim friend just published this article in Medium. It's about how democracy is being used to poison democracy, how Western values are being used to protect the most tyrannical doctrines in Islam, how Muslim reformers are being suppressed, silenced, and ostracized in the West. The West is betraying its own secular traditions by failing to scrutinize the anti-human dogmas and imperialistic history of the Islamic world.

The Article Title: "Who's the Loon?"

Your friend is absolutely right and the irony is that this silencing is coming from the Left. The Left is working against the atheist and secular Muslims who are the very ones that the Left should support because the Left believes in both of these things.
How ridiculous that the Left who criticizes traditional Christianity would be so enraptured by an ideology where the deity counts how many times a day you pray, what hand you wipe your bottom with, how good you are at discriminating against people based on color and religion, champions a system of laws that use cruel and unusual punishment such as chopping off appendages, throwing gays from the highest rooftop and practices misogyny amongst other anti Leftist things.

Hello. Thank you very much for sharing this article. I am always reluctant to talk of Muslims as collective. The media never make a clear distinction between Mecca Muslims (moderate Muslims) and Medina Muslims (radical/extreme Muslims), nor do they clarify the difference between Islam and Islamism. Similarly, the distinction between Hinduism and Hindutva is constantly blurred. I am sick of it, and I sometimes wish people would go beyond the generalisation of Islam and Muslims and pay more attention to voices of individual Muslims (or any group of people for that matter). I am very aware that there are some brave individuals and groups (Mecca Muslims and ex-Muslims and their supporters) working hard on the reform and modernisation of Islam, including the removal of Hadith and modification of Sunnah, and I know they're constantly under death threats made by Medina Muslims. I sincerely hope that they will succeed in the near future, so that Mecca Muslims could integrate better.

Thanks for reminding us of the distinction. I hope I haven't come across as someone who generalizes about Muslims (or any group for that matter).

The writer of the article was a Mecca Muslim who was so disgusted by those self-appointed spokespersons of Islam that he left Islam altogether. The same thing is happening on the Left. The "WalkAway" movement, among many others, are seeing moderate leftists, classical liberals too ostracized because the most fanatic among them get all the microphones.

Until reform takes place, I don't believe I'm under any obligation to respect Islam. Islam is what mainstream Muslims think and believe. And from what PEW Research tells us, there are far more Medina Muslims than Mecca Muslims. Medina Islam is the mainstream Islam.

I recently read an article about a group of apparently progressive students trying to silence Camille Paglia, a professor at UArts, who is a long-time feminist and campaigner for gay rights. This is an absurd example of the left eating itself, similar to Muslims eating themselves. Very disheartening.

First, this is a REPUBLIC NOT A DEMOCRACY. Second, I agree with the fact that MUSLIMS are using our own Constitution against us. We are letting them by recognizing Islam as a religion, which it is not. Islam is a geo political ADGENDA bent on world domination by any means necessary. Third, Electing these monsters in to office is the TROJAN horse they seek.

This article is the most honest and straight forward truth that I have read in a long time. Thank you for sharing this. I just hope we can overcome our complacency before it's too late!!
