It would be 'great' to have a rival to Twitter 'that could end up eating its lunch'
Twitter is a means for those craving attention to display their "smartness" for the world to view -- and admire. It is ego-driven.
Replacing it for something really defending free speech and forbidding censorship would be great. But, I'd not hold my breath.
In addition, replacing it with anything also prone to abuse is sorta like backing off from heroin and "just a little cocaine" now and then. Yeah, right.
How about just calling the person directly? Talking to them? Actually interacting with a person, at least for small items? The risk there, is that you might really find out how important you are to the other.
