I have experienced some negativity and dogmatic thinking from vegans. However, it is their party and their rules. Why and how is a "vegan party" much different than a "white party" or a costume ball? You show up as instructed or you don't get in...

I get the questioning of anything being sold as 'politically correct benevolence' but this was just a party, being thrown by vegans. Perhaps one of them is so sensitive they get sick watching people eat meat? A proper guest would simply comply with the request or just not attend. ...Now if and when it became mandatory, then it is something to make a stand over.

I remember some company functions I have attended where the food was simply deplorable. No consideration at all for people with any sort of dietary sensitivity and no option to leave and get something else. I decided if that happens again I will just fast. What's the difference? If it is important enough to be there is not important enough to make a fuss about. Save the fuss for something more meaningful.

Back to vegans, I think they are like a neo religion in which the smaller one's supposed "Karmic Footprint" the more holy one is. Like most "fundies" of any stripe, they are completely blinded to the hypocrisy of their position.

Yes they do seem religious. And the thing about this event, was that it was supposed to be all-inclusive for everyone at the childbirth class but since vegetarians volunteered to host it, they tried to impose their dogma on the other families. So we didn’t go.

Cows and sheep eat lots of grass. So, as far as I'm concerned, beef and lamb are a good source of leafy vegetables, which makes me a vegan.

I can’t stand veganazis. I am allergic to wheat and was at a retreat where the vegan host offered me cous cous salad as a gluten-free option.. Are you kidding me? Cous cous is wheat wrapped in more freaking wheat? I sat there staring at my plate while everyone else was eating.

There was no protein and no other option, but luckily someone at my table offered me some jerky and an apple from his hiking backpack.

Oh, and no apology from the hosts either.
