How Ben Shapiro Is Leading the Next Revolution in Conservative Media

[amac.us]

Unlike most cable news hosts and media pundits who operate in an echo chamber of either right-wing or left-wing ideology, Shapiro has built his brand on conflict and argumentation, willing to get hit and hit back in real time as few other prominent conservatives or liberals are. Even as many other conservatives ceded ground on key social issues, Shapiro refused to back down, calling for a blanket ban on abortion, criticizing the Black Lives Matter organization, denying the idea that people can change their gender, and staunchly defending Western civilization as the bedrock of American society.

This is an interesting article, which may well be correct in its assessment.

I just am not able to tolerate Shapiros speaking voice and style for more than 3 minutes at a time.
"fingernails" on a chalk board"

I don't like some of Trump’s idiosyncrasies either, but that would not be a good metric for my judging the man's performance. They're still better than the "good words and fair speeches" of gaslighters.

@eschatologyguy I agree with you - I have no problems with the content of their arguments. Shapiro and Trump notwithstanding the "gaslighters" are insufferable, intolerable and just plain wrong all of the time.

A Democratic activist had his microphone removed while trying to debate conservative commentator and “free speech warrior” Ben Shapiro about the definition of “wokeism”.

I saw the whole video of the event (not just the edited clip in the linked video), and Ben allowed that guy to speak far more than usual, even though it violated the rules stated beforehand for those who were to ask questions. He was actually quite patient and tolerant in allowing the guy to highjack the proceedings for as long as he did.

@KeithThroop fair enough, though the point was Shapiro was outright lying and making a strawman argument, and the questioner was trying to clarify and actually explain what the position was, which is why Shapiro shut him down.

Shapiro is a pseudo-intellectual who speaks fast and loves to set hypotheticals and imaginary scenarios to argue against, but has a hard time actually debating based on real world facts and actual occurrences. A funny example is when Shapiro argued that climate change wasn't an issue, because if coastline houses were flooded and destroyed, the owners could just sell their houses and move... completely ignoring that no one would buy flooded and destroyed houses.

Another fun example is that Ben Shapiro has his catchphrase, "facts don't care about your feelings", but commonly uses feelings to justify his position. For example, in regards to gay rights, he said, "Ok, you have these religious principles, is there any justification outside of 'the Bible says so' for why this is correct... As a religious person, I believe that God didn't create stupid rules. So if you believe that God didn't create stupid rules, then you have to come up with some sort of justification for the rules that are being expressed."

@JacksonNought gonna have to ask for sources please. 1st, I strongly suspect there was more to his coastline argument. Please provide the entire conversation which you are referencing.

2nd, I've heard him justify many of his religious beliefs with secular reasoning, including gay issues, referring often to "shared values" and "social fabric". Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean he doesn't give one.

I'm not even that big of a Ben fan, but to think you calling him pseudo and throwing a couple of anecdotal referenceless smears at him is in any way a fair assessment, is hilarious. Good luck with that, as his audience continues to grow.
