WHO DECLARES MONKEYPOX EMERGENCY: As the pandemic virus was spreading in and beyond China in 2019, causing severe illness and death, the World Health Organization did not declare the virus an International Emergency. That happened in February of 2020. But we now read that the WHO has declared the Monkeypox and International Emergency, though the spreading strain of this virus, as NBC Boston reported a few days ago, has produced a death toll of zero. Of course, I don't mind what the WHO does. Admittedly, Monkeypox has become a problem. But unfortunately, the WHO has become a mostly irrelevant organization that has lost its medical credibility, and that is a pity. But as long as Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus directs that organization, its reputation will not improve. Of course, some might argue that the WHO has learned from past mistakes. I tend to believe that the WHO is satisfied that China cannot be effectively accused of creating the Monkeypox problem. So Tedros voted to break the Emergency Council's tie to declare Monkeypox an International Emergency. And that's WHO politics as usual. [fortune.com]

Timing is almost perfect - American mid-term election and campaigning season is almost upon us.

A recipe that was allowed to work the first time could work again for them.

Pandemics usually come from places already saturated with "infectees" and spread from there. In this case, they came almost simultaneously and were evenly distributed, as if they were spread purposefully.
