Judge: "You can't be trusted with his documents" | Redacted with Natali and Clayton Morris
I take issue with the contention that there should be the same standard applied to Trump and to Hillary Clinton with regard to their possession of classified documents after leaving office. As I understand it, the whole issue here is that there is a different standard for the president as the head of the Executive Branch versus those who serve under him, since the the creation of the classification system was done by the Executive Branch in the first place and since the president is the only person with the authority to classify or declassify any documents he wishes. No person serving under him has such authority. So, if Trump did have a standing order that anything he chose to take with him was to be considered declassified, then that is the way it is. Hillary Clinton never had such authority.
Very well said.
