Pritzker Suffocates Free Speech

Illinois Gov. Pritzker faces a tough reelection campaign in a likely wave election year that puts even formerly Democrat states like Illinois in play. So, rather than try to defend his miserable record of failure as governor, Pritzker recently intervened directly to have privately-funded newspapers canceled and opposition TV ads removed from the airwaves in Illinois…

The papers are hard-hitting and brutally effective. As Pritzker pours hundreds of millions of dollars of his inherited trust-fund fortune into his campaigns, this newspaper method employs a motivating but low-cost ground game to counter Pritzker’s political air-war…

So, Pritzker used his political weight to pressure the company printing and mailing the newspapers, Paddock Publications…

Paddock Publications relented and canceled the printing contract. Even though the company readily admits it prints all kinds of newsletter and newspaper products, without regard for the content, these papers became suddenly unprintable...

Thankfully, the opposition to Pritzker in Illinois remains steadfast. Local radio host Dan Proft, affiliated with both the newspapers and the TV ads, declared: “the papers will continue to be printed and distributed even if we have to return to the Gutenberg Press.”

Here in the Peoples Republic of Illinoistan, I have seen a huge number of Pritzker signs in people's yards outside of the Chicago area over the past couple of years, and almost all of them look like this:

@Garsco Sadly, yes.

Most rich people go into politics to protect and increase their wealth. Trump went against this conventional wisdom.

He does not face a tough reelection campaign. He'll likely win in a record landslide. The "newspapers" you speak of are a fraudulent PR operation run by political operative Dan Proft and the far right State Policy Network, funded by reactionary billionaires like Dick Uihlein. Paddock harmed its credibility by printing them.

I also doubt that Darren Bailey has any chance of winning, although many of us are still praying for a miracle.

Their sith mind tricks are failing. People can see with their own eyes and only the weak-minded will fall for it.
