Bonhoeffer's Theory of Stupidity
Stupidity is not ignorance. We place a more derogatory connotation on ignorance than stupidity because so many more people are stupid than ignorant that it has become normal in our culture.
"Against stupidity, we are defenseless." It seems largely true that "stupidity" in this day and age is a moral defect, not necessarily an intellectual one. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome .
Ignorance is defined as a lack of information and is easily curable by education. Stupidity is a choice that embraces the rejection of information making it only curable by the moral conversion of the stupid person to exercise reason over feelings.
