THE LAST WORD ON GUN CONTROL

Every call for gun control is an admission that gun control doesn't work.

Laws do not prevent crime. They merely punish the offender AFTER the fact. If you're determined to do it, there's absolutely nothing stopping you. This is the real price of freedom.

Prohibitions create an increased demand for the prohibited, relative to the supply. This serves as the incentive for creating dangerous and lucrative black markets. You think drug dealers are a problem? Just wait for arms dealing.

Laws and freedom are polar opposites. Is there really any wonder why the two don't seem to work well together?

I'm not saying crime can't actually be prevented. It absolutely can. You simply remove the human right to free will. But the price is freedom. If we were all kept in separate cages, prevented from interacting, we'd all be perfectly safe.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be laws. There absolutely needs to be punishment for those who violate the individual liberties of others. Just don't expect laws to change the nature of man.

The truth is, the great majority of laws are subjective ideological judgments of those in power. Any law that is not in defense of individual liberty, is a violation of it.

Where there's an insatiable will, there's always a way. How many bans is London gonna impose on sharp and pointed objects before they realize people can make sharp and pointed objects out of anything in minutes. The same is true with guns. Sure it may take longer than a few minutes, but banning guns can never erase the knowledge of how to build one. It would definitely increase the money making possibilities for those who possess that knowledge. There would never be a lack of desire to learn that valuable skill.

So you ban guns. And, the only people that will have them is criminals who need them for their work and rich people who can afford to pay the exorbitant price. The rest of us are just fish in a barrel... with laws that don't prevent the, now undefendable, crimes that follow.

Do not allow fear to make you trade your freedom for false promises of security.
