We just won an amazing victory in the UK, so I’m very happy, and calm. However the campaign was a nail-biter, and I think it’s worth reflecting upon the moments wherein one personally wobbled. For me, it was bitter accusations that I didn’t care about the unfortunate. I got over the wobble quickly, because I DO empathise, albeit consider it likely that often (not always), they’re in that particular pickle because of poor life choices. Regardless, we should be, and I am, compassionate and merciful - just, not prepared to submit myself to serfdom, in any dubious collective attempt to get them out of their hole. Do friends agree, and have versions of this dialogue occurred for any others here present?
