For now, I doubt that scenario very much.

Back in late 1990.'s, US government sued Microsoft when they grew too big for an economic venture and forced them on fair game - just like that. If memory serves me right, Microsoft lost one substantial portion of market share in that deal and value of the stocks dwindled also.

I see no reason why they would not do it again should Elon's companies grow too large and start posing a threat for the rest of companies. That does not go to say how his personal wealth will not grow out of proportion; it most certainly will.
