I have always, until recently felt more of an affinity with the left. Coming from the UK and going to university there, that's pretty standard. Several years ago I discovered Anarchism and Libertarianism and that's where I'm at now. I have lived in Australia for the last 10 years and I know most people in both of those countries don't even know what Libertarian means!

What really worries me, is how censorious the left has become. Attempting to shut down free speech in the name of compassion. It boggles my mind that they don't see how dangerous and authoritarian that is. I was having a conversation with a lefty friend the other day, (and most of my friends are lefty) a very intelligent and successful person and she was arguing that you shouldn't be able to offend people! I don't think these people have any idea of the forces they could unleash or the hell they could create with these ideas.

You might be able to stop people saying things but you can't stop them thinking it (or do they want us to go full 1984?!) It's far better to have these discussions out in the open and actually answer opinions that you don't like with reasoned arguments.

Also this whole identity politics nonsense drives me crazy.

I definitely wouldn't call myself right wing either but at least the right don't seem to have gone completely insane.

I have always, until recently, considered myself a moderate democrat. Mostly because I worked a good union skilled trade job most of my life, and I’m a firm believer in the working person. Living wage, health insurance, pension benefits, etc. But I know wonder why unions push Liberals the way they do. A liberal will tell you what you want to hear, then do whatever profits them. Examples- NAFTA, the failed ( thank goodness) Trans-Pacific Partnership. As liberal policy goes further to the left ( they are no longer Democrats), I find that I have been left behind, as most moderates feel the same. I am sad that the party of Harry Truman and JFK is no longer, but find that my conscience will no longer are allow me to stomach liberal policy. I didn’t leave them. They left me.

The Left I find are like Very stupid Sheep who follow blindly and when questioned they turn aggressive & abusive then spew out the Racist Card.

Yes and the alt-right... If we're all honest here...

...isnt too much less guilty of that whole racist thingy.

Just say'n.

The economy, NPR, racist people other than whites(i.e. "minorities" ), & left wing morans perpetuating racism by constantly talking about race.

I didnt, the left just moved further left shoving me to the right.I still have very liberal views on many things, the big one being the right to free speech and the responsibility to be a positive to society.Freeloaders who want rights without responsibility annoy me.

Freeloaders, or frontloaders?

Weak minds who have never bothered to read the great philosophers, nor apparently take a basic course in logic, seem unaware of Constitutional principles, and why they are important. Our Founders created the ONLY system known to humans that protects our rights and removes the need for the supposedly “infallible” and “benign” dictators from the equation.
The massive egos of these self-appointed “elites” have themselves convinced they know what’s “right” for everyone.
In a Democracy, everyone gets to define that for themselves. Liberals seem to believe there "should' be a better way, but without considering the consequences of trashing the best system ever devised by humans to deal with human flaws. So they believe that every deception, lie and fraud is justified to achieve their utopia, even though their solutions like socialism have killed more human souls than any other except Islam. Brilliant. The truth is that they are the only ones lying. That makes their high ideals fraud and they are the bad guys, and delude themselves otherwise. They can't face that and slander anyone who supports the Constitution. Taking responsibility is totally foreign to them.

Sounds about right.

Can't really say I was ever one or the other,

But I always look for things that work, and most of the failure (unintended Consequences) have come from the more left learning experiments than the right leaning ones. but a healthy mix of caring and consequence helps ... Of course Once you have been a parent, You tend to find this out for yourself. So having kids seems to help

These days the far left are too anti-constitutional rights, anti free market capitalism, and anti individualism, just to name a few.

Yep, I think I can see it that way. But...

...mostly, the far left is morally twisted and corrupt, more than anything else.
