We should teach our children to be capable of violence-

Etymology of "nice"
Middle English (in the sense ‘stupid&rsquo: from Old French, from Latin nescius ‘ignorant’, from nescire ‘not know’. Other early senses included ‘coy, reserved’, giving rise to ‘fastidious, scrupulous’: this led both to the sense ‘fine, subtle’ (regarded by some as the ‘correct’ sense), and to the main current senses.
We've spent enough time trying to teach kids how to "be the bigger" person. It ignores the human condition. Kids have been bullies for eons. It's time to teach kids how to defend themselves verbally and, if absolutely necessary, physically. A good swift kick in the shin speaks loudly to a bully and generally you'll be left alone from then on.
Encouraging and rewarding the aggressors by walking away from them without a fight, will only make them more belligerent in their pursuit. That's exactly why we got here with the lefties
I concur. It's time to fight back.
I read the original article about a week ago.
Personally I’m horrified at the deliberate wussification that’s being pushed on Our Kids but, even worse, how many parents meekly accept or even promote this concept.
Same here.
Yes. Martial arts, weapons, and a fire-breathing voice.
After a quick read, I would certainly say it is a good direction to explore in an effort to raise children to be more protective of things that ought to be defended. I was raised in a similar high-road fashion and often feel like a doormat. I would like to encourage my children to differentiate between (for example) that which is a debate and that which is an attack and respond appropriately and assertively. A sort of honor should be instilled in people and it should be reserved for things of great importance as part of a greater moral standard and it should be defended with only what is necessary to protect it. Though in the situation the article describes I would see the figures of authority as incompetent in modeling a proper respect for the moral standards of society. I mean they should at least look at it as they would using Wikipedia as a source and cheating or plagiarizing.
