8 valuable lessons from China about how to contain the Coronavirus...
[thefederalist.com]

Freedom of expression and a free press are essential to everyone's health and safety. That's the most valuable lesson we should take away from the coronavirus epidemic.

The recent coronavirus outbreak, which sprouted within China in December, has now stagnated the world’s second-largest economy for more than a month. Since then, the virus has spread to more than 50 countries across six continents, all except Antarctica. The World Health Organization declared the virus a “global threat” and urged countries to prepare.

The medical journal JAMA published a paper last week, titled “Characteristics of and Important Lessons From the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Outbreak in China.” Its data was based on the 72,314 cases reported by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Since China has the largest number of infected patients and death, this paper provides some valuable insights and lessons.

The massive issue coming up is the interface between poor and unsanitary food preparation caused by poverty, but supplying the extreme social and economic pressure applied by nearly a billion Chinese returning back home every year for the New Year. It creates a high density population interaction combined with pressures to make money and supply everyone with food, which equals a viral roulette wheel, with a new outbreak or strain travelling globally out of China. How do you politely ask all Chinese to cancel their New Years' travel plans? And I can guarantee that people will continue the New Year's tradition regardless of International viewpoints. Also, keep an eye on the locust problem in Africa. Spreading North and South out of Kenya, once all agricultural food staples are gone, wild game is back on the menu...bats with or without Ebola virus, Sir and Madame?
2020 - the year of perfect hindsight, and Viral outbreaks!
But stay happy and healthy, you got front row tickets to the end of Civilization!
