Navy considering gender-neutral alternative to junior “seaman” ranks

The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) is in the early stages of shedding its junior “seaman” ranks for gender-neutral alternatives.
Do they have women in the Navy? If yes, does no one think it would be odd for a woman to be called a seaman? I dislike political correctness as much as everyone else, but to call a woman a man doesn't make much sense to me. Call them sailors maybe. Why is there so much hate on this topic?
Fireman, seaman, postman...HU-MAN! I am sure the majority understand the word and generic of the word 'man'. Aren't we all human, or are we going to please 675 types of imaginary gender?
The whole push and intent of the left is to weaken and destroy Western Civilization, so this is not surprising...
Well, I think that taking that action is just such “woke” cat vomit ... and about as useful.
On the other hand ... When I was in the US Navy, for a short period after boot camp, I was a “Seaman” which was always pronounced “semen”.
I was young but I thought it was hilarious to be called by most people “a pool of sperm” ...
But then, most seamen are young and sex starved so ...
