One argument I hear often from the Trump bashers is that Trump ran his Atlantic City Casinos into the ground and that he was the direct cause of them eventually closing down. That claim is not true, do you know how I know that? From the year 1993 through 2009 I went to Atlantic City at least once a year, and the main casino I patronized was Trump's Taj Mahal. Mr Trump operated that casino just fine, the casino itself was impressive and gave excellent comps that other casinos did not give, I got expensive gifts comped to me, and eventually earned the top tier player's club card and got comped high roller suites. Life was really good back in those days, I got treated well at Trump's casino, and everyone around me there was content as well. The real reason why the AC casinos started struggling was due to a smoking ban (thought up by Democrats) that drove alot of people away from AC, so much that business and the city as a whole just went downhill. Trump wasn't for the ban, he knew it would be bad for business, he was right. Pass this testimony along to those you know, and anytime you hear someone attempt to blame Trump for his AC casinos failing, just tell them the real reason why the casinos failed. What I just mentioned above I know to be the truth, as I was there personally to witness the gradual decline of once prosperous casinos at the hand of control-happy Democrats. On a side note, about two years after the Taj Mahal closed down in 2016 it reopened as the Hard Rock Casino.

i don't gamble, or travel much, and am reactive to flashes loud noises and crowds of people, so i do not understand the appeal of casinos.

probably a construction site thing more than a fear of people/places thing.

that being said, i like trump much more since his medication change.

When the truth is not persuasive, they will lie to achieve their goals, and blame it on the opposition. Straight out of Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals." Anyone with a brain can see what is happening and will relegate Democrats to the trash bin of history.

We must also factor in the emergence of Indian Casinos, and the loss of the exclusivity of Atlantic City and Las Vegas as gambling destinations.

On the east coast in particular, the casinos here in my home state of Pennsylvania and in Delaware really dealt a blow to the AC ones.

I never heard about the impact of the smoking ban.

The interesting thing about Trump bashers is how their perspective changes to fit events. One minute Trump is a shrewd oligarch who’s constantly enriching himself making international deals. Next minute, Trump is know-nothing loser with no business skills who got a lucky inheritance.

It can’t be both.
