ANNOUNCEMENT:
If you have run out of toilet paper - Whatever you use in lieu of toilet paper do NOT put it in your flush toilet - repeat - DO NOT put anything other than genuine toilet paper down your flush toilet.
Toilet paper is designed to dissolve rapidly in water - other paper materials are not so designed and they will cause a blockage in your plumbing system and or your septic tank!

I Hope this advice is helpful.

Oh damn!

Does that mean the 40 copies of Hillary’s last book that I got in Costco’s $2 bin aren’t going to work. Seemed ideal; rip out a page, use it as it was meant to be used.

Ha! no you can still wipe with it - just don't put in your flush toilet. Find another way to dispose of it.

The thing is, as a kid back in the 50's and 60's when toilet paper was short we used newspaper on a string torn into manageable squares - can't recall a blocked toilet but that might be my memory!

sure - lots of us old folks remember using a phone book or news paper or something other than real toilet paper "back in the day" before we had flush toilets (indoor plumbing).
Buy hey...go ahead flush whatever you like down your own toilet. It'll be your problem - no ones business but your own...LOL
