This song has never made sense to me. It has a catchy tune, but the words are as ignorant as this parody suggests.

It is an anthem to the Communist/Socialist philosophy. It sings in praise of No borders, no religion, no God.
like all socialist/communist propaganda the song is catchy - sounds all warm and fuzzy - can't we all just love one another and share all the wealth as one...

I never liked the song because I have a habit of paying attention the lyrics when I listen and if there is a bad or stupid message (you'd be surprised how many popular songs are like that) then I put it in my pile of "dislikes".

My sister was telling me once how much she loves that song (as it was playing in the background). When I told her what it was and that I hated the song she got mad as a hatter.
Started ranting about it. She and her husband also happen to be all warm fuzzy "Christians" too...the kind that routinely "Prays" for everything and everybody who "needs" it...God they say , will make it all better.

I argued with her and when I said
A)she and her husband "pray" all the time for all kinds of stuff that needs fixing because they have no intent and really no ability to "fix things" themselves and so they in "prayer" are begging God to take care of it for them - they can then tell themselves that they helped in some convoluted thinking way
B) the song sings about a life with no working concept of a God - NO RELIGION. and that very idea directly contradicts her habit of "praying" all the time for everything she sees that "needs fixing".
She stopped talking to me for a long time after that conversation. Go figure....I wonder if she "Prayed" for me during that time. LOL
