New York City wants you to call the cops on people who fail social distancing...
New York City is asking its citizens to report other people to the authorities for failing to abide by social distancing orders. This is an unnecessary—and authoritarian—escalation of the city's coronavirus response.
"The City has enacted public health social distancing restrictions to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus," states the government's non-emergency services website. "You can report a violation in progress for the City to enforce as appropriate." As examples of the kinds of things that people should report, the city lists non-essential businesses remaining open, and overcrowding in general.
Looks like history is repeating itself. Hitler had alot of snitches. And look he murdered more than 6 million jews. Vote these people out Pelosi, Omar, Shift, Alexandria Ocasio, Rashida Talib, and many more replace them with sensible humans not evil morons who love communism.
The question becomes if the tree of liberty has to be refreshed from time to time with the blood of innocents.
For the foreseeable future we are not going to live in a world where people will always act responsibly. Irresponsible people in a pandemic will cause people to die and some of those who die will be people who were acting responsibly. That said we know that even the draconian actions of the Chinese dictatorship were unable to control the viruses spread.
Most people do not really think of economics when they are contemplating liberty. They certainly do not see a connection between economic freedom and health. There is one statistic that may help illuminate that connection. Forget all the rigged statistics governments produce and just consider this. The U.S. had 34 ventilators per 100,000 and the socialist system of Britain 6.
There is evidence that Trump continued to focus on the economy while members of the intelligence community were warning that the Chinese government was lying. I was also warning that the virus could cost Trump re-election if he didn't act decisively by February. It didn't really take much imagination to know this was going to be bad. To be fair the Democratic leadership was telling their constituents to party in mid March. The political reality is that until the threat was undeniably the president could have done little. That is the way liberal democracy works. It is slow and inefficient. "Democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."
