Is technology a friend or foe? How can the human spirit survive in an age of weaponised disinformation, attention hijack and digital manipulation? Douglas Rushkoff has made these questions his life's mission, culminating in his recent "mic drop" moment, Team Human. he talks about the trajectory of silicon valley, from psychedelic tech utopianism, to corporate takeover and attention warfare.

Named one of the “world’s ten most influential intellectuals” by MIT, Douglas Rushkoff is an author and documentarian who studies human autonomy in a digital age. His twenty books include the just-published Team Human, based on his podcast, as well as the bestsellers Present Shock, Throwing Rocks at the Google Bus, Program or Be Programmed, Life Inc, and Media Virus. False question. Blaming faceless "things" or invisible forces is a deception. There is a reason our Constitution calls for justice for individuals, and not groups, or corporations, or churches, or homeowner associations.....or "technology."

I agree it's a false question, similar to asking if fire is good.

@TimTuolomne technology is an extension of humanity.

It's the ability to borrow the tools of God.

Our consciousness is molded by it.

The Constitution was made to accommodate changes in both technology and culture.

Technology is inseparable from the individual as far as it affects behavior.

Don't you foresee amendments very soon?

Given the choice between the two, human beings concern me far more than technology, as technology itself is an inanimate force which is meant to serve humanity. For the very same reason I am not concerned about guns, as guns require a human being in order to function.

What about AI?

Inanimate is a term that will have to be redefined or relegated to history.

@Supra_Librix AI is not an organic being(s).

@CarrenTracey Then the root of the problem still revolves around human beings, and that includes both of the concerns you mentioned above.
