"It is quite obvious that neither the Republicrats nor the Demolicans represent the interests of “we the people” and that both factions of the US plutocracy are under the total control of behind-the-scenes real powers.
This is why I submit that the next election will make absolutely no difference: The US system is rigged to give all the power to minorities and to completely ignore the will of the people, The choice between the Demolicans and the Republicrats is not a choice at all, The systemic crisis of the US is too deep to be affected by who is in power in the White House."

For much of my adult life I have considered the possibility of Governmental control by the Super Rich , an idea shared by many. It was my Primary reason for voting for Donald Trump. Despite being pessimistic about a political figure keeping their promises President Trump proved me wrong . He might not be perfect but he works hard at keeping his word and he does appear to be one of a few in DC who have the Constitution of the United States at heart. Nobody said draining the swamp would be easy and it certainly surprising just how deep the swamp flows but that's no reason to throw in the towel. The next election will determine the future of our country and form of government and I have no desire to wake up in a country where I am prosecuted for defending my life or property. Seems to me the systemic crisis has evolved from those who have been in the system for too long. That can be changed with a vote.

Dude, read the platforms. Republicans promise to defend the Constitution, and if you check their voting records, most do that. Democrats promise everything to everyone, and when you check their voting records, what they mainly do is lock themselves into greater power and office when the public is sufficiently distracted by their false assertions of bad Republicans. Smarter Americans, who have paid attention, know better than to buy the media nonsense that Republicans do what Democrats are actually doing. For example, how many of the media are Democrats? You don't know? The New York Times proudly reported around 1990 that it is 87%. A more recent study showed 93%. How do you think that plays????

The Democrats are lazy. When they do go to vote it seems that they just vote for POTUS and ignore state and local elections. That is why the majority of states have Republican legislatures. Which party is setting up as many restrictions for Democratic voters with gerrrymandering, fewer poling stations with fewer workers, not reporting or disqualifying votes from Democratic areas and passing laws that make it more difficult for some Democratic voters to register? Which party has been successfully placing the Department of Justice under the President? Who have the majority of Retrumplican legislators controlling things?

Loyalty and sticking together are one of the strengths of the Republican party but lately as the President has become more and more unbalanced, they are finding that loyalty to country is more important than loyalty to party.

The promise of America and its standing in the world has been building for over 200 years has been ruined by a "F...... Moron" (quote from Rex Tillerson) who is completely unqualified and incompetent to be President.

@Pand0ro, Respectfully I strongly disagree on the interpretation of what is happening. The "Deep State," which you will probably not agree exists, are the appointees by previous Democrat administrations, many of whom are not loyal to the Constitution, the Congress, this President, or the people. Every President has the equal right to appoint them, and the President is exercising his legal right to purge the Federal Bureaucracy of disloyal employees, just as all his predecessors did.

@TimTuolomne Robert Burns wrote “O wad some Power the giftie gie us, to see oursels as ithers see us!". And what a gift it would be to see the world without bias or prejudice. Unfortunately it is not within human capabilities to do that. I respect your knowledge and thoughtfulness but we both are looking out the window on opposite sides of the house. I hope we can learn to better see the world as it is.

@Pand0ro, Well spoken! I do my best to see the World as it is and imagine that I only partly succeed.

So who do you think that Republicans and Democrats are, some strange aliens from a far away planet? They are people just like you and I. You can't just assume that they bought and paid for. Some of them are, for sure. But then, it's not the people who are bad, it's the system they work within. And that's a hard pill to swallow. You then have to say what system would work better.

I have not seen a human system that works perfectly, so I can't recommend one for you. If you think the Democrats have solved the world's problems, you are welcome to them, the same goes for the Republicans, hey, take your pick. Me, I think they have both screwed up the world something terrible. Now that is my opinion based on my experience over 80 plus years, my study of history, and my belief in God. I have to swallow no man's pill, thank you anyway. All isms are flawed in that they come from flawed human minds; minds similar to both yours and mine. Socialism, communism, capitalism; all flawed in that they are the products of man's philosophies, all dreamed up in the minds of men, all sons of Adam.

@lawrenceblair Well, it's a typical conservative response. If a system doesn't work 100% perfectly, it doesn't work at all. It's the same with masks. If a mask isn't 100% effective, then it's worthless. Certainly, there must be systems that work better than others, otherwise what the American forefathers did was an exercise in futility.

@TyKC I hate to say this but look around you, look at the nation. The founding fathers did the best they could to write a constitution but a constitution is only a piece of paper with hopes and dreams written on it, nothing more. They were not even certain it would cut it; if they had been they would have not placed a clause in it as to the procedure to amend or change it. You might read this: [constitutioncenter.org]

There is also the fact that the constitution was written and ratified by Christians and deists; take a look at the history of our leaders. legislators, and judges since that time; a steady but sure decline year by year in the number with even a little belief in God. The people of the nation are not of the caliber of the founding fathers, not even close; many of our leaders and judges being open God deniers and perverts.

You called me a conservative, I am neither conservative or liberal. Do not attempt to label me, I have not labeled you . . . yet.
