Even though the evidence speaks for itself, the progressives are able to continue to market their wares, just like Hugo Chavez was able to market his failing socialist philosophy to the citizens of Venezuela even as it was failing by promising the undeliverable. This is why our founding fathers set up our system as a representative Republic rather than a pure democracy. Progressives in liberal states are trying to move us away from this successful system by eliminating the Electoral college. This is our country's way of preventing tyranny of the majority. The progressives, whether they realize it or not, very much WANT tyranny of the majority so that they can exert more control over all of our lives. This is EXACTLY what has happened in states, cities and jurisdictions that are under total Progressive control. So, how's that working out for ya? While rightfully pointing out the inherent ridiculousness of "progressive" policies, it's done in bad faith if you don't address the fact that California has been operating with a democratic super majority for almost a decade and they have been regularly operating with budget surpluses. I don't take issue with liberals per se, but rather the group of individuals who refer to themselves as "progressives", who in turn have hijacked the Democrat Party with their politically correct sjw mentality.
