Yup. If I was a CEO of a corporation, I would be faced with the choice of going down with the ship, or skipping out. If as many CEOs are the same distribution of those without strength of character as I see in the general public (think the number of people on the highway who are willing to risk the lives of your family when they speed, run red lights and tailgate) there are going to be a big percentage who rob the kitty jar and run. That's a tragedy for their employees, but a greater tragedy for them. They will spend the rest of their lives knowing they are cowardly liars.
