First thing you need to do in order to de-escalate things is to accept you and your system are wrong. That doesn't mean the left is right, just that you are wrong. If you and your system weren't wrong, half of the country wouldn't have gone crazy and be wanting to burn it all to the ground. This is important because until you don't accept that you are wrong, you won't adopt the mindset that you need to change.
