For my fellow Americans, how do you feel about a single-payer healthcare system? Personally, I'm against such a concept.

100% for it. Healthcare for profit is disgusting in all forms. Some things should be off the table as a for profit scheme. How to implement it is the question tho.

So you are asserting you have an inhearant right to health care?

@Veteran229 is healthcare not part of the pursuit of life that is stated in the Constitution? If not for modern medicine we wouldn't have life expectations as high as they are now days and all deserve equal rights in that regard is how i see it. U can offer a counter to how u see it tho, u might be able to make me change my position. I'm not closed off on the subject but at this time I see healthcare as a necessity for the pursuit of life.

@george "...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

If living as long as possible makes you happy, go for it. Would you not be trampling on my liberty by taking my wealth to have your healthcare. Or trampling what I find that makes me happy in life by using my wealth for your health care?

The HMO Act opened up the healthcare sector to the stock market. Investor return is now their primary goal and not paying out claims or service. This is compounded by there only being 2 companies that actually make medical grade disposables( sell utensils etc). That area is heavily regulated, and one must get permission from government to start a business of that nature. Their are 3 types of business. Nonprofit, for profit, and for profit traded. The for profit traded has lead us to where we are today. There is no need to jump to a government based system. Once they have that control, it will take bullets to get it back. The federal government does not give up control of what it takes. Lets try rolling it back to the 2 other types of business.

As a general rule of logic. The government has tried to fix health care several times. Why would anyone want to assert them full control with their multiple failures to "fix" it.

@Veteran229 everyone already has their wealth taken and used for socialism for the elites and no one seem to mind that. The government is efficient and well oiled when it comes to what the donor class wants. Electing people who are not corrupt and bought would supply the same outcome for the people the representatives actually are there to represent is how I see it. Medicare for all would actually save money over what we are spending now and all of us would be covered so u would actually keep more if your wealth from that standpoint.
