I think AOC is an empty headed ideologue who recites garbage that made sense to her as a 20 year old in college. That being said I think a universal basic income is a splendid idea. I'd rather have a deadbeat out there spending money (even if we were the ones to give it to him/her) than sitting idly draining the economy. At least they would act as an agent of wealth distribution if nothing else. Plus there would be no bureaucracy required. Just send that asshole a check and let his community profit and grow off the money he spends. If they were unwilling to work they would have to move somewhere with a low cost of living and the money they would get for nothing would be used within that community to help it grow. I think Andrew Yang makes the strongest case I've ever heard for a small amount UBI
