Record number of Americans call government our biggest problem-
[reason.com]
While I agree that government is our biggest problem, the discussion can't end there. Better stated is the role of our government is our biggest problem. In the last 100 years the role of government, specifically the Federal Government, has changed dramatically. There is less focus on restricting the power of government and more emphasis on government funded activism.
Of course another view point is that our current government is our biggest problem, and we need more government with more power in order for it to be effective and make our lives better.
In my opinion, any government inherently needs the governed to depend on it in order to be legitimate. It has to represent its self as a solution to a problem even if the problem is insignificant, self induced, or imaginary.
I hope what you posted is correct but I’m afraid we’re going to have a socialist government in the next 10-15 years possibly a lot sooner. The leftward drift of the democrat party scares me.
I know what you mean, and share in that concern as well.
No surprise here. I've been thinking that for a very long time.
