Demographically, conservatives have an uphill climb. Trump won the election because the lazy left didn't bother to vote. 2018, where both sides were activated, ushered in a wave against conservatives mostly because of Trump. I'd think it difficult for someone who gets their news from the MSM to even consider Trump palatable. This is why they fear Schultz. He's palatable to the left and his policies aren't to the left of Hitler, Mao and Stalin.

The way I see it is that the democratic party has split into two - one is radical left socialist/Marxist ideas and the other is for the sake of the opinion, standard. I believe that with these far left policies such as Green New Deal and Sander's absurd "Democratic Socialism" that democrat voters will vote for Republican as they are more traditional or close to the political center than the far left are for obvious reasons.

I hope they do backfire. I hope Trump’s re-elected.

Please excuse my comfortable confidence, but President Trump WILL be reelected in my opinion...& I sleep easier and better at nights lately because of it... Even the people who hate him are currently benefiting from the positive and continued explosion in the economy.????
