Too many choices make people unhappy. What do you think? Have an example from your life?
All of life is one choice after the next I feel, some make the wrong choices then continue to do so.
Others will not be happy with what ever choice they make.
I grew up on a council estate in Yorkshire in the UK, 3rd youngest of 10 children living in a 3 bedroom house.
I was led to think that once alloted such a difficult start in life then that is how it would be for always, this attitude was with me until my late teen's.
Then one manager gave me good feed back for my work, this changed my choice making for the rest of my life. Once I saw that I could make improvements to my life through my own efforts, it inspired me to work harder and push to see just what I could do.
I see brothers and friends who never got out of the mindset that "life gave me a crap deal and so no point fighting it", and now they are still in the same rut.
From my point of view life is for the taking, if you make what turn out to be wrong choices, then learn and change.
I could see being overwhelmed by choices but what comes to mind:
A supermarket with 12 different kinds of apples from other parts of the world next to products and produce a king from 50 years ago couldn't acquire. Home Depot with plywood in 1/ inch thickness increments. All different bolts and screws with different finishes and lengths. I think of these things and feel blessed.
The choices we make are what makes us happy/unhappy. Right?
Not the fact there are so many.
My Hope here is a person makes good, proper decisions within the framework of their upbringing, beliefs, etc.
more choices please!
God please keep my decision making clean and for your Glory.
Amen.
If you become unhappy from having too many choices. You probably won't have the chance of having to make too many anyway. In other words, lack of principal decision making.
I don't know about unhappy but it is exhausting. Remodeled recently buying new appliances. Why must everything have a clock on it? Why so many features, we know 75% of them we won't use. It helped to remove chemical based food and most sugar from my diet as that removed about 5 aisles of endless and useless product in the grocery store. But, this is all silly stuff really. You start taking people's choice away to live their lives freely and I think they'll realize quickly what it truly means to be unhappy.
Then, choose according to your belief, for YOUR happiness.
Get things without a clock.
More basic.
But hopefully the guy who likes clocks on everything has the choice, too.
Only if they are unable to muster the brain power to choose for themselves. I don't walk into a soda store with 1,000 options and walk away crying, and still thirsty
@militantMom what's NPC? Not popularly correct, or a misspelled acronym?
@Biosphere non playable character. Idk like the bartender in red Dead redemption
@Rus-T-Balls enter resting..:?
@Rus-T-Balls I'm not being sarcastic about the compliment I'm about to say...thank you for your help in guiding me through this maze of social media traffic..I'm old school, and definitely not tech savvy..I appreciate the directions you offer-- always
@Biosphere I got you. Once you responded, I thought you'd like to see some basic af memes. They're always good for a chuckle.
@militantMom it is in nature funny but morons have become NPCs with using them
