I said I would post more, so here is a start:

Ok, so if Socialism is to be the banner that the new Democrats will waive as they usurp the old crony capitalists, what is it that the new Republicans will offer? And who are these new Republicans? Do they even exist yet? Well, they should. And Heinlein gives a template for advancing our Republic that actually sounds pretty Damned good.
We on the right, (or NON-Far Left, I should say for the sake of accuracy) can beat Socialism by a "free market" approach: Offer a better product. We can construct a better product from the philosophical blueprint that was disguised as a Sci-fi novel.
I have read the book myself two years before the video I posted came out. I loved it the first time I read it. So I have thought about this for at least two years independently before Sargon made a video about it.
I personally don't agree with several of Sargon's political views, and I am at complete odds with him religiously. But his analysis is fair and well researched. We both agree Heinlein was really on to something, even though we are very different in our beliefs.

That was a fascinating video, thank you for posting it! I loved the book but I thought the movie was satirical. I did not catch the nuances contrasting the world of the movie from Fascism. I totally agree with his take on Heinlein and he has always been one of my favorite authors! I read this as well as some of his kids series works like Tunnel in the Sky, which is another favorite. They influenced my politics then and now.

I first read this novel some fifty years ago. For decades, R.A.H. was my favorite author of all time. I first read Heinlein at the age of six, finding his 'Red Planet' in the school library. His Libertarian attitudes and beliefs helped formulate my own throughout my life. I agree, we do need New Republicans. I'm not seeing them in the current batch of yammerheads in Washington. As we keep sending the same ones back time and again, I don't know how it will change.

I like @ElDustino 's "Libertarian constitutionalist"

Do we really need new Republicans? Perhaps we could simply improve upon what we already have? My other concern is that both extremes are potentially dangerous, and one does not have to be a Republican in order to support free market capitalism.

True, but it would be a good idea if the Republican party actually was a free market party. Out with the Crony Capitalists and in with real conservatives

@The_Farseer Okay, I certainly agree with that much.

I only watch the DNC from a safe distance but wonder, is the whole party waving the Socialist Banner or is a fringe group that is getting all of the press? Both the DNC and the RNC have their extremest and both seem to self correct over time. I am actually happy to see AOC spouting the garbage she does, she does not seem to have gotten the memo that she is supposed to be hiding the agenda. In the past I have been accused of making false accusations against the left and now she is coming right out and saying it. I find it much easier to hit a target that is out in the open than one that is hidden under camo

@BrunosDad The Democrats are reaping what they have sown. Now the sheep are in the Farmhouse.
