Things that make me crazy: When will the Pro-Life states finally ignore liberal judges and enact their laws restricting abortion? What could they do? Send their imaginary armies into these states? What ever happened to States Rights? Why is it that abortion is mandated nationwide because of 1 ruling, but gun rights are not? How is requiring a license to carry a concealed weapon NOT an infringement on the Second Amendment? Why does the Federal Government own so much land when the Constitution specifies exactly what lands they can own? Why are regulations written by bureaucrats treated like laws passed by Congress? If term limits are good enough for a President, why don't we have them for all politicians? It wasn't meant to be a lifetime job.

I wonder when people are going to wake up and realize that all the anti-abortion laws will not make abortions go away. Similar to the gun control debate, I'm firmly against any sort of gun control legislation as criminals have no regards for the laws. How about we slow down a bit with all the regulations?

So. By your reasoning we should just forget about laws against murder, bank robbery, kidnapping, rape, counterfeiting and all the others as well....because it doesn't make those go away either? Laws are not made to make things go away, they are made to inform you of what societal standards are and to let you know that there will be punishment for violating said standards. If we follow your position we are advocating for anarchy, lawlessness, and supremacy of the strong over the weak. That's not a place I would choose to live. Laws protect the moral, the good, and the righteous citizen from those who are immoral, evil, and unrighteous. No, we cannot legislate morality, but we can set certain standards of conduct agreeable to the vast majority of people.

@bkw1956 I don't advocate total lawlessness, I'm talking about all the needless laws. For what it's worth, do you honestly think hardened criminals care about the so-called punishments there would be for breaking the laws? Of course they don't, and more laws haven't prevented people from getting murdered by others. To the "vast majority of people" you say? What about the minority, you are aware of the fact the US is a constitutional republic and not a democracy right? Lastly, being that you obviously missed the point of my original comment, the point I was trying to make is that I would not be quick to trust the states anymore than the Feds, as state- level powers can become just as corrupt. I wouldn't want to live in a world where the state has all the say.
