The New Zealand mass shooter was no normal mass shooter. His motives, his targets, his ideology. I have never seen a shooter like him before. I think this was a call to arms. The world is in a leftists ideology crisis. The left has there guns pointed squarely on white people. If we do not find a better and effective answer soon there will be more mass shooters. I fear this trend will snowball faster than we can keep up. White youth all over the world in the west will learn the shooters motives and there will be others. We have failed the west. We have started looking for answers to late. We are not serious. Even this website states they will censor discussions that are not civil. Your world and your children have been pushed over a cliff and your main concern is that we be civil? IDW off to a bad start. I will pray for us.

Is this dude for real or a bot? This type of exchange is truly questionable at this point of history.

People get uncivilised when their positions and intellect are weak, and their ego / self-worth is tied up in others agreeing with them to validate their weak position. Violence with words is not all that different than physical violence.

As long as people have violence in their hearts, there will be violence in the world.

The place the work is to be done is within ourselves.

Read P.D. Ouspensky - In Search of the Miraculous, if you are interested. I think that is where he covered his meetings with Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff kept an entire village safe during war and saved hundreds of lives by being present, and because he was intelligent, he still kept his weapon. He was the only civilian who could.

I think Douglas Murray hit the nail on the head when he lamented that the powers that be (governments, police etc) constantly focus on the secondary problems and fail to address the primary causes of tragedies like this. They just wish to silence people who raise difficult issues (Tommy Robinson, Lauren Southern etc.) without really looking deeper into why these people feel the need to speak out, or worse.

No one in their right mind could possibly justify the murder of innocent people, but just putting the blame on white supremacy, Islamophobia, gun control or social media doesn't delve deep enough and won't solve the issues. Not talking about it doesn't make it go away!

But we do need to be civil! The only way to negate bad ideas and speech is by having more speech about good ideas!

Oh look this guy is going to defeat me with his "ideas" should I be afraid? Oh wait he also said "we do need to be civil". No never mind false alarm. He is a dog with no teeth. (That's a hell of a negotiating position you have put yourself in)

@Mentalprogram Making personal attacks really doesn't further your side of the debate. Instead, why don't you try to change my mind with reasoned argument? With civility, of course!

@Incajackson you'll be ok... when he's not aggressively defending his deeply reactionary musings, Mr Mental with get on his knees to pray that everyone sees the world through his clouded eyes

Thanks all the same but I really don't need, or indeed want, your prayers

I prayers offend you then you are part of the problem.

Agreed. Indeed, prayers are at least part of the problem.

Is it mainly just Christian prayers that offend you?

@MarPep I never said I was offended. I just don't need your, or anyone else's prayers or sanctimony.

@Papanuts Praying for others is an act of compassion not an act of moral superiority. You are being condescending and flippant. I respect your stupidity.

@Mentalprogram I never implied that praying is an act of moral superiority you sanctimonious cunt

@Papanuts Definition: sanctimony:: the action or practice of acting as if one were morally superior to other people.

@Papanuts You are not very good at this.

@Mentalprogram as in 'holier than thou'? You're kinda making my point

I think you need to wait until we can tell if its a bad start.
At this point, when they say "not civil" i think they just mean people pointlessly flaming which in the

We shall have to see but based on following the people behind this for the last 3-4 years they know that all speech, how uncomfortable it might may you feel needs to be heard.

We shall see.

One can only imagine what goes on in his twisted mind and in some part it may well be a call to arms, one that I would hope none here would be inclined to emulate.

We know exactly what was in his mind just read the manifesto. He was not crazy. He just saw no other way. I am by no means saying that I agree with what he did. I am just pointing out that young white boys growing up in this world will reach similar conclusions. Why do you think there are so many homicides in the black community. Because young males see no way to succeed they see a system set against them. This is even more true today for white western males. Could you imagine how the homicide rate would grow if young white males felt as disenfranchised as young black males. You would see Mass shootings every day. That is war.

@Mentalprogram I've only heard bits of his manifesto. Did he say something about liking the Chinese system, speaking of 'economics'? or something else? Thanks

Off to what bad start?

I received a welcome message from the IDW after I joined. In the message they implied that they would censor speech if it is not civil. I believe this is a bad start for the IDW.

@Mentalprogram It is not a bad start to want to be civil.
I literally am having this same discussion from the other side of the coin with my Marxist friend who refuses to join me to see Jordan Peterson argue with Slavoy Zizek, who is a Marxist! He says it's pointless to even have the discussion.
I tell him Discussion is the most important thing to have! I tell him we have to be willing to take the gloves off and go at each other's Ideas, specifically to sharpen our wits so as not to degrade into intellectually weak personal attacks. Ideas, ideologies, politics, religion, these are all open for debate. I hope that even though we might collectively agree that society could use improvement, we all have different ideas how to achieve that, but IMHO violence isn't one of those options.
That is what I take the censorship on this site to mean. Being "civil" in this context simply means not attacking people personally and not calling for indescriminate violence against groups of people. [I am not accusing you of this, and since I do not see you complaining about actually being censored, I give you the benefit of the doubt that this is not what you are calling for.] In short, while military revolution might be necessary, this probably isn't the best site to organize one! 😛
Incivility clouds the intellect and muddies the conversation. It sucks up too much oxygen, time and other valuable resources. If we're going to pretend to be 'intellectual' (it's literally in the name!) then Civility HAS to be a precondition.
Sounds to me like the IDW is off to a GOOD start! 🙂

@KrustyG We agree to disagree. Though I do have to admit. IDW did contact me asking that I explain point on this topic. I honestly did not believe they would get back to me at all. I still believe its a bad start when you are censoring people for saying "n" word or trolling. If its not illegal it should be allowed to be said on this site. Otherwise you do not want answers, you want the answers that you want.
