I think, if the best part of the IDW could be distilled down to one thing, it would be nuance, predicated by a hatred of ideology. The things I’ve seen today have made that clear, at least to the level of my limited understanding.
I dont think hatred is the right word. It
s more of a realization that just flailing ideology in an attempt to beat an opposer into submission with it is useless. Dialogue with a good persuasive argument is better. Argument (not fighting) and agreeing to disagree, without abuse, is a more civilized and useful type of communication. It allows people to unite on the things they agree upon, and minimize what they disagree on, thereby avoiding the tribal polarization we have in our culture today and creating opportunities for "civil" relationships.
