AI demoralizes workers according to this article in the link below. Another thought. If AI takes over meaningful work then can people invent new jobs that are meaningful, or is it more likely that politician will trot out guaranteed universal income and force some updated socialism down our throats?
When that happens we will have a large portion of the population that is dead weight. You really think those in charge care to help? More likely they will find ways to get rid of said dead weight.
Machines have been replacing human labor for as long as we have been inventing them. In the most technologically advanced civilization ever, we have the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. In fact, there are more jobs out there then can be filled ATM.
If machines and AI get to a point where we no longer need to work. What point will money have anyway? "Machine, I need this, make it."
If a computer doesn't accurately count the number of letter g's in a string of characters, that computer gets thrown out. If a person doesn't get it right, who cares? That's why we have computers. How about a respectable competition where there isn't a presumption that the computer should do better? I have to think that is part of the thinking behind the participants.
