In New Zealand, a democracy turns against itself...

Under pressure, democracies have a nasty habit of acting like panicked crowds.
At some point, people became less stoic and more focused on saving face. I am ashamed of terrorism in my country but I won’t trade my weapons for approval. As a woman, I can’t defend myself with a knife.
That's why democracy is mob rule

Is not such what the Founding Fathers feared and warned against? America has not been immune, even tho' we are a democratic republic and not a pure democracy.
Remember what the Greeks said about democracy, it is mob rule, what ever the majority wants on any given vote is the way the state shall act. Democracy is the worst of all possible political states because we never know how the mob will vote. At least with a dictatorship one knows where one stands for or against.
