@MADcHATTER agreed. On the other hand, the original settlers, most of the founders and the majority of our leaders and population have been Christian as are many of our traditions and morals.

@MADcHATTER I am not trying to say we are a Christian nation although the supreme court once did proclaim that we are. I suppose if someone wants to dechristianizing the founders, they would concentrate on Jefferson which you have adeptly done. It almost sounds like he was the only founder. I have read the writings of many of the founders and many were devoutly Christian and that is reflected in our government. I’m well aware of Jeffersons beliefs but he was one man and while he was in important one, he was most certainly not the only one crafting our founding documents.
