It has been my experience that opinions contrary to liberal views are much later in the google search. The first several pages are usually articles that agree with propaganda.

You can get at both sides of the climate change debate using Google. The key figure behind the current furore is a climate scientist named Michael E. Mann. Twenty years ago he wrote his doctoral dissertation at Yale in which he created a data series that attempted to estimate about 100 years of average annual global temperatures using recorded temperatures from thousands of weather stations from around the Earth. It generated the famous Michael Mann 'hockey stick'. Google that for starters.

The hockey stick showed a sudden and rapid increase in global temperatures in the years after 1950. More importantly, the hockey stick temperatures correlated with a similar rapid increase in CO2 in the atmosphere. This did not prove that the latter caused the former, but because of the Greenhouse Effect it could have done so. All in all, it created a genuine 'holy shit' moment. What if it were true? If global warming were caused by humans, it could be stopped by humans. Research money poured in. No research avenue was left untrod from arctic ice cores to sea level rise and much, much more.

The last 20 years have have pretty well demolished the Michael E Mann hockey stick and its implication that we are all going to be cooked in the next 12 years courtesy of cow farts and carbon emissions. The climate seems to be warming a little particularly in the Arctic, but not enough to be alarming. In fact, it may turn out to be beneficial. In any event, it is not (very much) driven by carbon emissions. There are plenty of years, if not decades, to figure out our next move, if any.

I totally agree. I’ve been a keen observer of the weather for over 30 years. I believe the oceans play the biggest part in our climates. Especially the Pacific ocean.

Look, Climate change is happening no matter what you say. The point is that mankind can do sweet FA about it. Yes, we have contributed but the real controller is nature itself. And we are still too uneducated to even protect ourselves let alone stop it. Truth is, mankind has a lot to learn and the first lesson is just how dumb we still are!
