@arboristly560 look at our first civil war. we has about ~30M people in the country. 1.5M died on and off the battlefield. Now, we have 12x as many people. So just scaling it would bring the number to 18M. Now, back then the sort of guerrilla warfare and mass civilian killing I am predicting only happened in missouri and kansas, and some in arkansas. This time it will be in 40+ states. The nation is not divided as much by region, it is divided along the lines of rural v. urban. Suburban is the border. It will be far worse than the first CW.

It won't be a one sided cakewalk.

@EdNason True that. But they also avoided the horror of civilian liquidation, and the death squads phenomena. We are heavily armed as a nation. The good thing is that the correct side has more armaments. The trouble is that the correct side, being more individualistic, will be slower to organize. This will lead to a long, multiyear CW with outside intervention by foreign powers who will supply both sides. We will be a ruin when it is over.
