Overheard on the Internet: "Democrats claim DACA kids shouldn't have to pay for their parents' crimes… but white people are still responsible for the actions of 17th-century slaveowners?"

It is ironic that the Georgetown University vote stemming from them selling slaves, still punishes the students who had nothing to do with it.. The University should be the ones , if they really believed in absolving their sins. I do not understand how the students themselves fall for this.. They will donate 27.50 to the cause.. If I could afford Georgetown, I would be ripping my kids out of that school immediately.. The school benefited from their sins, and still convince the idiot students to pay for it.. to the parents...this is money NOT WELL SPENT.

I was just talking to someone about this exact same thing!

Great point and ,I'll be damned if I as a White man will be held accountable for a crime I never committed! And technically it was not a crime to own a slave up until 1865!And that law was eradicated with the death of 620,000 American lives and the first Republican Presidents life! Nobody alive today was a slave! And they talk of 400 years of slavery by our Government is a lie! The United States became a country in 1776,but up until then we were an imperialist territory of Great Britain !And we didn't really become valid up until the election of George Washington,in 1789!So slavery was only enforced in parts of the United States for 76 years! Thats a fact!

The anger of early American slavery only covers our failures to actually do away with slavery. Slavery still exists just without State's approval.

Summing up the civil war to slavery is just moral oversimplified standpoint rather than exploring the complex moral, economic, and societal concepts at the time.

Overall the first part of your statement is overall true, but I have qualms about agreeing with the idea of Lincoln as a hero, and the deaths of the civil war were to stop slavery rather than an independent power house of a new neighbor.

@CodeNameZebra Slavery still exists your right! Where it has existed since the beginning of time Africa! Lincoln is my hero....your not being politically correct or saying you're triggered by my statement are you? Morality and, slavery is moot! The War was fought the men died! Jim Crow was established latter.....only in the South and only by the Democratic southern states! It's funny how people talk about the Blacks who were enslaved in America and not European slavery under Rome, Alexander the great, Russian Communists the Nazi's Every race and religion in the world at some point in time has been enslaved!I get sick of hearing how some think, Black slaves in America deserve some exclusive perspective because their enslavement was somehow genuine and unique LOL!THere's slavery in AFRICA now....an not a word from the media, you know why because their not enslave by whites! And that does nothing for their socialist agenda in America!F a Marxist, and anyone who wants a slave!

@arboristly560 I'm not triggered just simply stating I agreed with your premise no individuals alive today participated in State sanctioned slavery in the U.S.A. So we shouldn't act like it.
As well pointing that your views on Lincoln and the war are perspective biased based. Which you are free to hold I just didn't agree with that part of the statement.

The law was eradicated via executive FIAT for the sake of political expediency in the war of northern aggression's bid to reign in the separatists. All of those deaths came after as a result and didn't have anything to do with slavery.

@JayKane To the victors go the spoils..and it's the winners who write the history!I am a states rights advocate, and think federal intervention is only needed in an emergency,, or similar action! Even if I were a Confederate from Virginia,to suggest that the North, and Lincoln be elected on the Republican ticket of abolitionism was not a factor or the extenuating factor for WAR, or succession is naive! The fact that the South threatened to secede from the union if he were elected! And he was and they did! History is hindsight only in opinion!

@JayKane, @CodeNameZebra I'm so glad I met a biased free person...I heard they were myths!!!
