I wonder why many movies of these days are rather unhealthy examples of relationships or love behaviour. I suppose that is because the world has changed, but sometimes I wished there were more movies that follows a couple over many years and movies about a slow-burned romance. I know some, but not many.

(Update, January 13th, 2022): Speaking of movies that I know, here they are, from my reddit post:

Probably because Hollywood is full of shallow, hollow and toxic people with no capacity for love. What they put out is just a reflection of what they themselves believe and do. Unfortunately, many of the younger generation end up believing that is the norm.
Lauren Southern was going to do a documentary about this (but much broader)...

Bettina Ardnt! 😀

Eroticism and pornography is not the same to me. Eroticism is, to me, a beautiful sensual painting showing the beauty of a nake body, for example. While pornography is a degrading video showing just graphic and frankly disgusting sex with no regards to love and courtship. Not my cup of tea, for sure.

@Noone I hear you, but they either can't or won't.

"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying — to others and to yourself."
Fyodor Dostoyevsky

another.
People usually go to be entertained, not put to sleep.

Hum, what do you mean, exactly?

@Nonwokeone I was pretty clear.
Movies that are slow and boring do not do well for obvious reasons

@Lightman Oh, I get it. Even me finds some older movies pretty difficult to keep watching because they take their sweet time to establish the characters and what not.
