Wouldn't big thunderstorms have the same effect (minus the pollution)?
Meh 🤷, I have an ex-racer greyhound (obviously used to be starter pistols), who won't bat an eyelid and will even sleep through the biggest storms and fireworks displays.

To an extant. We can't control nature, but we can control fireworks.

OK, a citation for point 2 would be good, because I can't find ANYTHING that even relates to that claim?

I do know and it is common knowledge that animals are terrorized - traumatized even with all of the flashes and explosions from fireworks. Pets tremble in fear and panic as they search for a safe place to hide - frequently under a bed. Cats do the same. Wild animals are often seen fleeing in panic and fear. It is also true that fireworks are known to trigger psychotic episodes in people with PTSD - especially if they have been in combat or somehow seriously injured and threatened in the commission of a violent crime. Children - especially small children are easily frightened to begin with...Fireworks also pollute the air with smoke consisting of toxic chemicals.
I am all for using fireworks in rural places but NOT in densely populated areas. I believe organized fireworks displays at sporting events and put on by Cities and counties for their citizens to enjoy is ok - relatively safe and fun. But I believe it is time to stop sales of fireworks to the general population.
Also there is the problem of some people using fireworks to make bombs or other kinds of destructive devices. I believe that is what the Boston Marathon bomber did: his name was Dzhokhar Anzorovich Tsarnaev.
So, in general I agree with this post.

@iThink Jesus, what is it with the poor logic, and lack of critical thought here.
I asked for a citation proving that animals actually die as a result of fireworks, not some vague assertions that led you to agree with the premise.
This is NOT a citation, and it does not deal with the question of whether animals actually die.
It's no wonder it's almost fucking impossible to have a reasonable discussion about anything these days.
Just where did you study? FFS!

@AdrianRainbow Well - I guess you told me! Now stamp your foot and walk away while rolling your eyes and shaking your head...try to not think about it anymore and have a good day...bye now.
