If love is God, then no one knows what it is.
But it can be said with some certainty that love is the energy of the universe, which everyone has designed within the framework of their preferences, which have a specific value meaning. Sometimes this meaning is shared by large groups of people, which leads them to conclude that this is the norm. It's mine point of view.
Sounds unclear and confused to me. God is Love. Simple. 1 John 4:19 "We love only because God first loved us."
I understand you and your confusing. But no one know exactly what is God. We are using figurative description. We rely on manuscripts, written by people. We believe our thoughts about, which also in most cases are not ours as they have been not based on an our experience. It means that the evidence of God is Love is human desire. But still what exactly love is that is God. And it's not about compassion, complicity, help, care etc. Love is different as well as God. And it is not the same as God much more than Love. Because Love is only human invention that is described differently within even one group of people or even whinh a family. Thank you for your comment, dear Tim!
@Sergius I did my best to follow your logic, but I could not. I have direct experience that tells me about God, so what you say does not apply to me very well. And as an engineer and a harsh skeptic, I have studied the question carefully, and found that I believe in Christ's resurrection, and that Scripture is the only wisdom on Earth.
Scripture tells us that we are allowed by God to choose His protection by faith in Him, or not. We are free to choose. Sounds like you have chosen. He will honor your choice.
@TimTuolomne I have meant that no one know what is Love exactly because it is God
