Congress can do whatever it wants - especially if the people are hoping that they don't have to be bothered, they can leave government to them, and trust them to do the right thing with their tax dollars. That statement is not intended to be funny, even if it is kinda ridiculous, because the people are asleep, and the government is running amok.

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." - George Washington, in a speech of January 7, 1790.

Illegals will self deport if we simply remove incentives and enforce our own laws.

Until Carter, illegal immigration was only a small trickle caused by the possibility of having "Anchor Babies" in the US, who according to the Carter Administration were citizens. Some debate the Constitutional definition of a citizen born in the US.

The Federal government should make Anchor Babies illegal - that's one incentive. Free healthcare and school are other incentives. Unemployment benefits and food stamps are among others. All should be made Federal crimes with stiff penalties when given to and received by illegal immigrants. That would still make the US far more benign than almost any other nation in handling illegal immigration. Some just shoot them.

The Constitution is clear. Constitutional protection applies to Citizens, not illegals. That is our right as a Sovereign Nation to so define, and essential to our sovereignty to enforce.

I am not opposed to LEGAL immigration, nor naturalized citizenship, according to quotas that make sense both for our nation's economy and the health and safety of both illegals, and American border Citizens. American border Citizens have unfairly been burdened, lost property, and sometimes lost their lives, and the drug trade has exploded because of US defacto border policies.
