Just to help a foreigner understand - The "Miranda Rights" state the right to remain silent, and I think in US law, the defendant cannot be compelled to give evidence against themselves ... or am I wrong?

So Obstruction by not giving evidence - is somehow not removing these rights? or not compelling someone to testify against themselves ???

Or are the laws different if your the Government ??

Sorry Just finding this part a bit weird.

As are we all, you are right No man can be compelled to give evidence and can claim the 5th in any legal proceeding unless otherwise ordered by the court under lawful grounds. No such order has been issued.

I would be embarrassed to Show up for trial unprepared

I think they are prepared, Not to win, as there is nothing to gain in a win, and not actual crime to result in a removal, They are only able to make a point, a political showboat to sow doubt, I have noted that they only repeat the same points over and over again, so they do not need witnesses, as they are able to give the same few soundbites over and over, in the hope that the public may believe it.

If they actually called witnesses, and the witnesses were cross examined, the thread of the narrative would unravel, so it's a clever ploy, so long as no-ones sees it's political ... Sadly it's so long people will switch off, and they will achieve the other ..

I think the ploy is clever, The performance and overtly political language will work against them.

But I'll try to stay awake, and understand what I can .... But Wow it's the weirdest process I have ever sat through.
