The authoritarian socialism of Bernie Sanders...
[thelibertarianrepublic.com]
A socialist is a communist in training diapers and a globalist is what's in the diapers.
Democracy is collectivist in practice if not in theory, so it seems to fit nicely with socialism in my own view. Democratic socialism? I have seen worse oxymorons. Socialism would seem authoritarian in practice and theory. I just happened to catch something Bernie said the other day that kind of tweeked my attention. He said his brand of socialism was better than Trumps brand of socialism. My own view is that any forced collectivism is a really bad thing, but I still plan to collect my social security in a few years.
All good on the Social Security part, afterall you paid into the system for alot of years (had no choice on the matter), so that money belongs to you.
Glad he doesn't stand much of a chance to beat Trump in the presidential election if he's nominated by the Democrats.
One can only hope!
@dmatic who- Jesus? God bless your soul dmatic ..If, in the "end", you are luckily correct about the god/jesus myth, will you not feel ashamed &/or embarrassed standing before him?
You never questioned his existence. You based your entire commitment to him, along with proselytizing in his name even though there is no available evidence for his existence. Yet still you've committed yourself to him wholly and completely basically on a blind pledge in which others ultimately guided you into doing so?
I think if god does exist, it makes more sense that he would respect you more if you questioned every trace of uncertainty, rather than thinking and feeling what you are told to.
@Biosphere will you not feel ashamed &/or embarrassed standing before him?
Not sure where all this is coming from, but will try to answer. That's a good question, really. I've certainly done many things in my past of which I am ashamed and embarrassed. Shame is a terrible feeling, of course.
I'm going to combine this thought of yours into my answer:
I think if god does exist, it makes more sense that he would respect you more if you questioned every trace of uncertainty, rather than thinking and feeling what you are told to.
Interesting thought of receiving God's respect! Wow. Is that even possible? Is that what you are seeking? God's respect? Interesting. A relationship of respect. Kind of blows me away. I'm going to have to do some contemplation on this, as it seems a little foreign to my thinking. You are trying to tell me what or how to think are you?
Anyway, what are you talking about "no available evidence for His existence"? The evidence is everywhere for those with eyes to see! And, I do mean everywhere!
Nobody is telling me how to think and feel. You think I am a mind-numbed cult member? You are very funny.
As for shame.....Me, knowing He knows, I suspect I will simply bow in humble adoration and acknowledgement of His glory and love. In Awe. and Thanksgiving. I believe He can redeem even me, one of the chiefest of sinners! Though my sins were as scarlet, I believe He can make clean.
I will pray that He give you eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to know His love for you, too! You ol' rebel!
