We didn't cripple the economy every year we had flu deaths - which has been every single year. And no, COVID-19 is not proved more dangerous yet. And Dr Neil Ferguson, on whose data the original predictions were based, has reduced the projected mortality to about the same as the flu.
I think its time to let the President know its time to restore normalcy.
