Coronavirus is a group of viruses. This one is called Novel coronavirus. The clue is in the name. It also has differing genetic makeup to other known Coronaviruses. Conspiracy theories are not helpful at this time.

I love the way Trump reacts to questions he feels uncomfortable with. Usually an infantile reaction to having his words read back to him.

@maxmaccc Yes Trump often behaves like a petulant child. But then people like Acosta make great sport of antagonizing him. Obviously Acosta doesn't give a flip about any of the information the Trump team is trying to deliver. Acosta couldn't care less whether the info is helpful much less accurate or encouraging. Acosta only wants to poke the bear. Agitate Trump (granted it's easy to do that). Shame on Acosta - this is a serious matter. This is a crisis moment - right here right now. We the people really don't need a petulant, recalcitrant, juvenile press corps with nothing more important in their twisted minds than to try to embarrass Trump. Not at this moment in time.

@iThink It appears that quoting Trumps own words back to him is all it takes for the leader of the free world to have a temper tantrum. One would expect more constructive advice and fact based statements from a president of the U.S.A instead of misinformation and outright lies.

@maxmaccc the problem is the context and implied gotcha! when they read back his own words. They would NEVER in a million years have treated Obama that way and you know that is true.
Trump is over his head - clearly as POTUS but even at that he was the obvious least worst choice in 2016. I shudder to think what the world would look like today if Hillary had won.
I am still no fan of Trump but the obvious contempt for him shown by the press corps would frustrate any one. Again I know Trump is easily triggered and that's because he really is out of his element in the political theater. I don't think Trump is stupid by any means but I think he has the political acumen of the average 9th grader. He just never expected that the press would kick him at every possible opportunity when after all he is POTUS.
But like I said before this would frustrate anybody.

@iThink They would never treat Obama like this, mainly because he knew what he was doing and kept his lies to a minimum. When you contradict almost everything you say, sometimes even in the same sentence, deny saying something even when it's on tape, constantly give out misinformation, mixed messages and outright lies like Trump does, you can expect to be called out. Especially if your words have life or death consequences. Now he wants to point to a shiny thing in the form of sending ships to combat drug cartels while the U.S braces itself for Covid 19 to sweep the nation. Good luck, avoid close contact.

@maxmaccc I don't know if the announcement about drug cartel interdiction is an attempt to redirect attention away from corona virus...could be. I will say though that while the virus is getting more coverage than the impeachment debacle (imagine that!) there are still a lot of other critically important matters going on which bear paying attention to.

I don't know that Trump lies as you say he does. He often contradicts himself and stuff he says turns out to not be 110 percent true but I don't think he is intentionally telling lies. At the moment he says such things he probably believes those things are true. Not good but not the same thing as lying. per se'

There is an infinitely wide chasm of difference between the untruths told by Trump and the lies that Hillary Clinton, Obama et al tell as a routine matter of political malfeasance and expediency.

Trump is NOT an artful nor "nuanced" liar....lol...he often reminds me of a Junior High School kid who mentally scrambles trying to come up with a BS story in order to keep his parents from grounding him for a month. LOL
Exaggeration, half true - just lame and often incorrect or not precise things just pop out of his head. He has no mal-intent; he's just well, not very artful in the dodge.

I'll say this. The Dems damn well better come up with someone better than Biden or even Cuomo or Sanders if they hold out any hope to unseat Trump.
The fact that Trump turned out to be the clearly preferred or favored person in 2016 and again in 2020 should tell you everything you should know about the Democrat Party.There is a arguable yet understandable cause for that seemingly anomalous reality.
It has to do with mal-intended professional liars and one ridiculously unqualified man whose heart and mind are in the right place but lacks the proverbially slick slimy skin of a snake.
We'll take Trump time after time until someone - anyone - democrat or republican (doesn't matter really) comes along that can and will restore credibility in the hearts and minds of the Great unwashed middle who LOVE their Liberty and LOVE their Country.
