Talk about calling the pot calling the kettle black. Seem he has clearly forgotten history or he is just plain old dumb. I'm also not quite sure getting respirators and masks from China counts as handing over sovereignty. If this man is a representative of the UK you may as well slash your wrists now.

Because buying respirators is handing over control?
Agreeing to China to develop UK's 5G network and risking the integrity of 5 eyes intelligence sharing is.
Contracting out UK's high speed trains to China at the cost of bankruptcy to British rail and train industries who existed since the time of invention of steam engines is.
We don't need crappy Chinese technology nor their cry wolf aid. British manufacturers likes of Rolls Royce, Dyson have already started manufacturing ventilators with 1000 units per day capacity
@Lt-JW I'm not disputing that you should build what you can yourself. Nut the fact is you off shored you capabilities long ago. Question is can you build enough and quick enough? The answer is likely, no you can't. And yes that need to be rectified in both your country and mine. BUt you are not going to rectify it before thousands die.
We have thousands of free available hospital beds, ICU units, ventilators, world's best pharmas and new hospitals being built. No one is dying of shortages.
