Don’t be fooled. Starmer will at best put a new facade on a crumbling edifice. He has a rag tag bunch of MPs comprised largely of extreme left wingers and beneficiaries of Labour’s diversity policies. With the best will in the world the best he could do is plug some of the holes to stop the ship from sinking but his idea of a moderate party is still going to be somewhat left of Stalin. He has got off to a flying start taking advantage of the current crisis situation by throwing out criticism of everything that is being done and trying to put a brake on Brexit. This man is no friend of moderate politics or indeed of the UK.
